The Inspiration Behind Beautiful Chances…

My sister recommended The Twilight Saga to me a few years ago, and after not reading much since college, I decided to give it a try. I ended up reading all four novels in the series in less than a week. One night, I read until seven the next morning. I suffered big time the next day, even with lots of caffeine. After that, I insisted she give me the titles of all her favorite books. I was hooked.
After reading an astronomical number of books last year, my husband took one of our bank statements and highlighted all my debits to Barnes & Noble. Needless to say, I was in heaps of trouble.
Then, after Christmas last year, he asked me, “For as much as you read, why don’t you just write a book?” Years ago, I’d given up on the idea when I was told I could never be a writer because I didn’t like to write outlines. I took my husband’s question to heart. I decided I just wanted to write, and I wanted to do it my own way.
Within three months, I had 94,000 words and had formed many new friendships along the way. At a quarter of the way in, my husband was the first one to read Beautiful Chances. His encouragement pushed me to continue past my fears and keep going.
Nothing is impossible if you follow your dreams.
